Enmore 1988 - 20YO - 43% vol/abv. - Rare Premium Rum

This Enmore 1988 is a 20-year-old release from Guyana that captures a piece of history. Distilled at the famous Enmore distillery, which closed in 1994, using a unique wooden still made from local timber. Unlike many rums that age in the heat of the Caribbean, this one was moved to the United Kingdom to mature. This cooler "continental" ageing in ex-bourbon casks gave the spirit a more delicate and refined wood flavour than it would have developed in the tropics.

When you pour it, you’ll notice a light, natural gold color because no colouring was added. The nose is bold and savoury, with notes of leather and tobacco. You might also catch faint hints of dried fruit and vanilla. 

On the palate, it is dry and elegant. At 43% abv, it's smooth but firm, offering black molasses and warm spices. The finish is long and slightly smoky, leaving a taste of charred oak and a bit of peppery heat. It is an old-school spirit that tastes more like a fine vintage whiskey, making it perfect for sipping slowly.
