Delamain Cognac 1999 is notable for being aged in English cellars, a practice known as "early landed," which contributes to its unique character. This practice, dating back centuries, was especially common with Cognac houses that had strong ties to the British market. The cooler, more humid cellars in Bristol, created a different ageing environment compared to the drier cellars in the Cognac region of France. This climate differential results in a unique spirit profile.
Having arrived in the UK during 2000, the cask rested here for 15 years before bottling in 2015. Grande Champagne refers to the growing region within the Cognac area, known for producing the finest Cognacs.
The Delamain Cognac 1999 is known for its fine, elegant and complex nose with notes of citrus fruits, white peaches, nuts, almonds and vanilla. The palate is described as having citrus fruits, black currants, figs, oriental spices and precious wood notes, with a long and subtle finish.
