This Classic Caroni 1999 is a blend of casks from the famous "lost" distillery in Trinidad.

 Since Caroni closed, this Rum blend is a rare find for collectors. It was aged for 20 years before being bottled in 2019, spending time in both the warm Caribbean and the cooler UK. This long ageing process helped smooth out the naturally intense flavours while keeping its unique, bold personality intact.

When you taste it, you’ll find classic Caroni-like tar and a hint of oil, which are much more pleasant than they sound to Rum fans. These heavy notes are balanced by sweeter tastes of dark chocolate, dried fruit and leather. 

Each sip is long and smoky, a finish that stays with you. By the time this was bottled in 2019, old Caroni stock had become very hard to find, making this 1999 vintage a true piece of history. It is a rich, intense drink that perfectly captures why this specific distillery became so famous before it disappeared.
